In the sequel to Amazing Grace, Grace longs for the family you read about in books. One day after Grace comes home from school she notices she has mail, it was a letter from her father inviting Grace to come to Africa to visit him and his new family. Grace accepts the trip. Once arriving, she has mixed emotions about this new family, but towards the end of the trip she realizes she doesn't just have one "perfect" family but two! I would use this book to describe different family types in lower elementary grades.
